Sam is the source of encouragement on the team. His easy going attitude and ability to see the positive side of life is contagious and always useful around the job. In addition to that he is our number one tester of jokes because if he can get a laugh from a joke, you know it’s a good one.
Experience
Sam is currently a student in Outdoor Recreation at Indiana University. He is an alumnus of the CORE program (a semester long course in leadership and outdoor education) and he continues to contribute to the program as an Assistant Instructor. He teaches current CORE students the technical skills of multiple outdoor adventure disciplines as well as helping them develop their leadership abilities and styles. He is also a trip leader through IU Outdoor Adventures.
Lesser Known Facts
Most people are curious about the beard but what they don’t know is that Sam is a lover of the outdoors. His philosophy is “If you’re lucky enough to be in the woods, you’re lucky enough.” In fact, it is because of his love of nature that his beard exists. Sam’s beard will soon be donated to the Save-A-Nest Foundation for bird’s who have lost their homes. Thanks, Sam, for your selfless contributions to our flying friends. While he is waiting for his beard to mature to its full potential, he spends much of his time hiking, climbing, kayaking and canoeing.
